🎤 Guest Speaker Spotlight: Mandy Lyons
On Wednesday, the Cass County CEO class welcomed Mandy Lyons, who shared her career journey in nursing and the many opportunities that have shaped her path.
Mandy began her career as an LPN before continuing her education to earn her RN degree, and RN Masters degree. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of roles, including the emergency room and intensive care units, and she helped build the Trauma program at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Today, Mandy serves as the Assistant Clerkship Director/Nurse Educator in the Department of General Surgery at SIU School of Medicine.
One message came through loud and clear during Mandy’s visit: find a job you love to do. Her passion for her work was evident as she shared her experiences with the class.
Mandy also encouraged our CEO members to:
• Find people at work they can lean on and learn from
• Be honest when they don’t know something
• Be willing to step outside of their comfort zone
